Amazing tilework at a foudntain outside the medina of Meknes. Geometric tilework is common in islamic design because representation of living creatures of forbidden in Islam, seen as being akin to idolatry. Geometrick decoration is used instead. Each tile is handcut and laid so thta it is more mosaic than tilework, and must have been incredibly time consuming.
